Saint Valentine

Saint Valentine died on February 14, 269 AD. He is the reason why we have Valentine's Day. He was a Christian saint from Italy. An emperor named Claudius the second was ruling and believed that it would make his soldiers stronger if they disagreed with marriage of any kind. Claudius the second jailed Saint Valentine for not agreeing with him. Saint Valentine's jailer named Asterius had a blind daughter whom Saint Valentine cured, thus getting him released. Saint Valentine still didn't agree with Claudius the second so he was awaiting to be beheaded. Asterius gave Saint Valentine a pen and paper so that he could write a love letter to his daughter. The letter said "From your Valentine."
